Help us shape the future of agriculture with an internship at River Valley Cooperative. Our internship program offers a wide range of progressive, hands-on, well-paid opportunities for students.

An internship provides an inside look at the daily work that takes place within our agronomy, energy, feed, and grain business units. Interns gain experience, make valuable contacts and learn firsthand about careers within agribusiness.

The details

River Valley Cooperative internships typically last 10-12 weeks at locations across Iowa and Illinois. Our goal is to prepare interns for success as they transition into full-time roles. 

Summer Internships – We begin searching for summer interns in September and October at local career fairs, with offers being extended by December.

Spring and Fall Operations Internships – We begin sourcing for spring internships in February, with March-June start dates. We source fall internships in August for October-December work needs.

AAS Ag Program Sponsorship

River Valley Cooperative is pleased to announce the River Valley Cooperative AAS Ag Program Sponsorship. River Valley Cooperative offers four (4) two-year full tuition sponsorships to high school seniors pursuing an Associate of Applied Science Ag degree at a participating technical college. River Valley Cooperative supports deserving students who have a passion for agriculture, a desire to attain their educational goals, and are driven to succeed to their fullest ability.

Student Eligibility:

High school senior, graduating mid-term or in the spring
Legal U.S. citizen or permanent resident
Must major in the AAS Ag program at a participating technical college:
- Black Hawk East Community College: Galva, IL
  - Agriculture Production AAS
  - Agribusiness Management AAS
  - Agriculture Mechanics Technology AAS
- Kirkwood Community College: Cedar Rapids, IA
  - Agriculture Science AAS
  - Diesel Truck Technology AAS
  - Agricultural Business Management
- Eastern Iowa Community Colleges: Muscatine, IA, and Davenport, IA
  - Agribusiness Management AAS
  - Diesel Technology AAS
- Illinois Valley Community College: Oglesby, IL
  - Agronomy AAS
  - Agricultural Business Management AAS
- Illinois Central College: Peoria, IL
  - Agricultural Science and Technology AAS
  - Diesel Powered Equipment Technology AAS
- Southeastern Community College: Burlington, IA
  - Agribusiness AAS

Sponsorship recipients shall be determined by an internal River Valley Cooperative committee. This sponsorship will be based on leadership, character, and community involvement. Funds will be disbursed to the college directly following registration and receiving a copy of the completion of the registration. The award is applied to all four (4) semesters of the AAS Ag Degree.

Requirements: Sponsorship recipients must complete the AAS Ag program in person or online. Recipients will be scheduled for part-time employment to complete their on-the-job training (OJT) during the duration of the program to gain hands-on experience and knowledge. Recipients shall remain employed for two (2) years minimum following graduation.
